Building Portable Rigging Cranes

EZ-RIG CRANES are manufactured by A-1 Performance Manufacturing - a family owned and operated business out of Santa Paula, California run by a father and son team. Art Mora invented the Ez-Rig Crane more than eight years ago. Seeing an increasing need in the HVAC, pipe and industrial markets for the unique portable lift design, his son, John Mora took a passionate interest in developing a manufacturing business around his father's crane prototype.

The Ez-Rig Crane spawned from a combination engine-hoist/engine-stand for lifting heavy loads but developed into a small and portable rigging crane with unlimited uses.

With twenty five years in the industrial construction industry, Art Mora was involved in thousands of materials rigging situations on jobsites requiring heavy load lifting and handling in tight areas that required the use of time consuming, awkward and dangerous materials-handling jobsite tools. The Ez-Rig Crane was invented from years of un-needed lifting labor, materials-handling frustration, equipment research and heavy construction industry observation.

Art explains the evolution of the crane, "Many times, we needed materials-handling tools to lift heavy pipe, lift mechanical components, lift pumps, lift roofs, lift containers, lift vents, and lift other materials, tools and equipment on jobsites. The jobsite rigging equipment and materials-handling cranes available on construction jobs were never able to position and handle materials and loads properly. They required HVAC, pipe, steel and sheet metal workers to climb ladders and operate rigging chainfalls equipment or home-made rigging tools in hazardous industrial circumstances."

Modifications began on the EZ RIG CRANE to benefit materials lifting and handling needs for plumbing contractors, sheet metal contractors, electrical contractors, cement masons, HVAC contractors, manufacturing facilities, government construction projects and facilities, and independent contracting parties. Today, EZ-RIG CRANE lifting and handling equipment is being used on jobsites around the world by commercial, industrial, residential and private construction, building and manufacturing firms. It is considered the primary small, portable materials-handling crane for lifting, rigging, and positioning
